The second part involves giving a valid health and safety solution for a site activity provided. Once you clear this, you qualify for the Construction Site Managers Safety Certificate. The certificate expires after five years. After this period, you'll need to take a Refresher SMSTS course in order to renew your 

certificate for a further five years. The refresher course lasts for two days.
