Are You Looking For Hair Loss Cures?

There are a number of reasons why someone would need hair loss cures and all of them have differing origins. Since the reasons for losing our hair are so diverse, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that there is definitely more than one solution available, which is good news for those who want to promote hair growth.
Hereditary factors can cause you to lose your hair
There is no getting away from the fact that losing your hair or even baldness can be hereditary. I know you are facing a sticky situation if your father lost most of his hair around the age of 36 and you are fast approaching that. However, what is different today is the vast array of solutions that can halt or reduce loss of hair and promote re-growth.
Stress can increase the need for hair loss cures
Stress can affect people in many different ways; breathlessness, irritability and yes even losing your hair. The body reflects the way the mind processes information and this can be seen in the hair too. If you are happy and healthy, your bodily functions will be in balance and your hair will grow naturally, and will shine vibrantly. However, with the increase in stress factors in your life, your hair can show this by becoming oily due to an increase in sebum. This can easily lead to hair loss. In fact, at stressful times in our lives many people can report an increase in hair loss. This can be very worrying for some, but there are cures for losing your hair that will halt this process and, in some cases, actually increase hair growth. However, for the best chance of changing losing your hair due to stress, it is advisable to remove the factors causing stress as well as addressing the loss of your hair with available remedies and cures.
Hormonal imbalance and the loss of hair
The body has many functions and is mainly ruled by hormones, both male and female. The incidence of female hair loss may not be as highlighted as that of men, but nonetheless many women lose hair. This can happen as they get older due to a change in hormones. They may also be subjected to these hair problems during pregnancy when the body is caught in a hormonal turmoil. Many people think that once they start losing some hair then baldness will ensue. This is not strictly true. If you are losing your hair because of hormonal issues, then once that hormone imbalance has been rectified, the hair loss situation will change too. Losing a certain amount of hair happens naturally and we are usually unaware of it until it becomes more noticeable, for example at the times of stress.
Choosing between the different hair loss cures
There are many more reasons for losing your hair than detailed here and as mentioned earlier, there are different reasons why we lose our hair so there are different hair loss cures to combat this. Sometimes, choosing the right one for you may be easy and you may hit on the solution straight away. For others, it may take a little time to find the right hair loss cure. However, as there are so many hair loss cures ranging from specialized shampoo and conditioners to laser technology and everything in between, there is sure to be a solution for each and every one of you.

Learn About the Symptoms and Treatment of Asthma

Asthma is a chronic disease of the lungs in which the airways are blocked or narrowed, obstructing the flow of air. It is a common condition that has affected people from all around the globe. Be it infants or the elderly, it affects people of all age groups. In asthma, lumens (passageways in the lungs that allow air to flow) of the airways decrease, which is the body's reaction to allergens and other irritants.
Asthma is closely linked to allergies. Though not all,it has been found that most of the people with asthma also have allergies. Many people suffering from asthma have an individual or family history of allergies, such as hay fever or eczema, for example. Common asthma triggers include pet hair or dander, dust, mold, pollen, change in weather and many more.
Asthma patients suffer from attacks that make breathing difficult.Treatment requires decreasing the symptoms of asthma:that can be done through proper control of exposure to the irritant. Some of the common symptoms that trigger visits to the emergency room include shortness of breath, coughing (with or without phlegm), wheezing, face and lips turning blue, rapid pulse rate, tightness in the chest,to list just a few.
People with persistent asthma should undergo allergy testing in order to identify the offending allergen; other test scan include chest x-ray, lung function test, peak flow measurements and blood tests to measure eosinophil (white blood cells, important in the immune system) counts and Immunoglobulin E (IgE).
In order to avoid the onset of an attack to the maximum extent possible, it is extremely essential to take all proper precautions, starting with a regular exercise regimen. Daily morning walks and exercise are extremely good for your system, as fresh air in the morning can do wonders for asthmatic lungs and your respiratory tract. An asthmatic patient should eat simple and nutritious food. You should eat small and frequent meals and avoid heavy meals as much as possible.
People suffering from asthma should completely avoid smoking, including exposure to second hand smoke. Smoking fills the respiratory system with toxins that produce major irritants to the respiratory tract and put unnecessary pressure on the system that an asthmatic patient may find difficult to handle.
In order to conduct an effective treatment for asthma, it is necessary to identify triggers, such as pets, dust mites and others; and minimizing exposure to them. The main portion of treatment is to keep away from the substances that activate your symptoms and control inflammation of the airways.
Asthma treatment requires two basic kinds of medication: first, asthma-control drugs to prevent attacks and the second, quick-relief drugs for use during attacks. Asthma control drugs control your symptoms if you have do not have mild asthma. You must take them on a daily basis for them to show effect. However, quick-relief drugs work speedily to control asthma symptoms.

I've Got To Do My Cardio - Or Do I?

Cardiovascular training has been the poster girl of every good exercise regimen for the last 50 years or so. Just go to any local gym and the sheer volume of chrome cardiovasuclar equipment on display is astonishing. Gone are the days when a gym member had a choice between a treadmill or a bike, we now have rowing machines, cross trainers, stair climbers, arm cycle machines, rope climb machines, cardio skiing machines …the list goes on and on.
Its no suprise that the average new member of gym is daunted by the array of cardiovascular equipment on display! But will we ever need to cycle with our hands? Will we ever climb an endless flight of stairs? Or are these machines here to entice us to part with our cash?
Healthclubs and Gyms are desperate to keep members happy. Keep them entertained and keep them paying. Thats why they invest in the latest "Bun Blaster 5000"
"But Ben we need to do our cardio training right? We need to burn calories and improve our cardio vascular conditioning by putting ourselves through a boring 45 - 60 minute constant low boring slog on the treadmill whilst watching last weeks Eastenders dont we? "
But what if its just been a long running scam (Pardon the pun)
Now first off I want to state straight away that any gym program needs to include some cardio vascular training. I just think the way we have been told to do it isn't working.
I worked at 2 large healthclubs for over 4 years before I started my own business and I saw the same people come in at the same time of day, every day and do the same workout, and I saw those same people never lose any weight or get any fitter.
"Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" - Albert Einstein
Every single one of those members (with no exception) Spent around 40 - 45 mins+ on various cardiovascular machines. Around 20% of them would then spend 5-10 minutes on various different weight training machines. Sound familiar? I can honestly say that the workout I have just described, in my experience, accounts for over 80% of all gym members.
"Gotta do my cardio!"
"Hows that working out for you?"
The human body is an explosive animal. A typical example of this is the fight or flight response. When perceived to be in danger of some kind the body releases a hormone "Rush" that tightens the muscles and sharpens the senses. The body prepares to either stand and fight or sprint away and jump into the nearest tree. It doesn't prepare to run at 60% of our max heart rate for 40 minutes plus.
Heres another example. Prehistoric man is walking through the woods and See's a rabbit "I could do with eating some rabbit right about now, I'll chase him at a slow steady pace for 60 minutes+ before he falls overs with exhaustion"
or
"Hey theres a rabbit, wheres a heavy stone I can throw at him"
Our body responds better to explosive brief intense workouts that more correctly mirror what the human body has been doing for the past couple of thousand years. Glitzy cardio machines are a new invention and our body is not built for using them. Need further proof?
Cortisol is a hormone our body releases at times of stress. E.g arguing with someone, suffering lack of sleep, stepping out in front of a bus, being woken up by the alarm in the morning etc etc
Its a vital hormone, we need it!
However there is a problem.
During times of stress the 'Sympathetic' nervous system is in full swing, thats when the cortisol is released in to the blood
During times of relaxation the ' Para symaphetic' nervous system is in action, this allows us to relax and flush out all of the stress hormones from our body.
The problem is that in our 'High Stress lifestyles' once we get into stress mode we find it very hard to get out of it. Work stress plus relationship stress, plus lack of sleep plus alcohol stress etc etc stops us from relaxing. This is when Cortisol becomes the bad guy…..
Impaired cognitive performance
Suppressed thyroid function
Blood sugar imbalances such as hyperglycemia
Decreased bone density
Decrease in muscle tissue
Higher blood pressure
Lowered immunity and inflammatory responses in the body, slowed wound healing, and other health consequences
Increased abdominal fat, which is associated with a greater amount of health problems than fat deposited in other areas of the body. Some of the health problems associated with increased stomach fat are; heart attacks, development/higher rates of "metabolic syndrome" cholesterol (LDL) and lower levels of "good" cholesterol (HDL), which can lead to other health problems!
These are all effects of excessive cortisol secretion. Now see why half killing yourself on a treadmill might not be such a good idea?
Your body needs to learn how to de-stress itself naturally, how to lose weight without losing your mind doing endless cardiovascular exercise, how to increase life expectancy (And running shoe life expectancy)
Long slow distance/duration cardio is not the answer for the majority of people, I only recommend it for endurance athletes. Full stop.

Do Not Ignore Breakfast

In modern life, because of the busy work, people begin to pay less and less attention to breakfast. There are even a lot of people who always go to work without having breakfast. In fact, breakfast is the most important meal during the whole day. If you do not eat breakfast for a long-term, it may cause serious harms on the body.
First of all, it may make you fat. Many people think that if they don't eat breakfast, it can help them reduce weight. In fact, such an idea is not correct. According to nutrition scientists, even if you do not eat breakfast, it still can not promote the consumption of fat, because once the human body realizes nutrition deficiency, it will firstly consume carbohydrates and protein, but not fat. What's worse, if you don't eat breakfast, it will make you eat more food at lunch, which will cause difficulty in digestion and absorption. In such a case, the excessive fat will be accumulated in the body and gradually make you fat.
Secondly, it will lead to constipation. If you eat three meals regularly every day, the human body will naturally form gastrocolic reflex, which is beneficial to the detoxification of the body. On the contrary, if you always do not have breakfast, it may cause disorders of gastrocolic reflex, and then lead to constipation. If the body can not expel of the toxins, the excessive toxins will accumulate inside the body, and then lead to many symptoms such as acne.
Thirdly, it will make people easily grow old. Breakfast plays an important role in providing the energy and nutrients needed by human body during the whole day. If you don't eat breakfast, the human body has to consume the glycogen and protein which are stored in the body. As time passes, it will cause the skin dryness, wrinkle and anemia, and accelerate human aging. If it is serious, it can even cause nutritional deficiency.

Last but not the least, it may make people vulnerable to chronic diseases. If you don't eat breakfast, the stomach will be in hungry condition for a long time, which can easily cause gastrointestinal diseases such as gastritis and gastric ulcer. What's more, it can make the blood platelet easily stick together, thus increasing the probability of heart disease.
From what we have discussed above, we can see that breakfast is really important in our life. As a result, for your health and longevity, please pay great attention to breakfast.

Making The Army Fitness Requirements

comes to getting in shape for the army, there are three very important body movements that will make your basic training and army fitness requirements a lot easier to handle when you get there.
1. Running - Running and marching long distances with weight on your back is how the majority of army units get around. So you will be doing a lot of it. Some units have troop carriers but you will still be doing a lot of running, trench assaults and closing into a position. Marching will come in whenever a big move or long silent patrol is needed.
With both of these physical activities, doing the thing you are training for is how to get better at them. Start slow and back off when aches and pains start. Heal, get stronger and then go further and faster as soon as your body allows.
Of course while in operation or on a tour, you can't readily stop for aches and pains but while you can while training, you should.
Also take into consideration that you will be doing all this in hard bottomed boots and not soft cushioned runners like you may be used to as a civilian.
2. Push-ups - Push-ups play more of a role in your actual training during boot camp and other courses but increasing upper body pushing strength is always a useful thing to do. You never know when you will need to push anything or anyone heavy around.
Besides practical uses, push-ups are a pass/fail activity during many armies recruitment process. Start on your knees and when you reach 20, do full push-ups. Increase your numbers by working just short of muscular failure once a day.
3. Pull ups - Lifting yourself over objects will come in handy time and time again. Pull ups will most likely be done during the recruitment process depending on what country you are in as well. You can increase your ability to do pull ups by starting only doing the very top half of the movement and once you reach twenty, cut the reps and go for the full range of motion.
Climbing into a truck, getting out of a trench and getting into and through a window are all activities that will use your pull up strength. Most obstacle courses have a table top, wall and rope or cargo net as well that will require pulling strength.
Not only are the above mentioned activities used for most countries army fitness testing but getting good at these three will work your whole body and make it substantially easier for you to master many other movements as a side effect.
Remember, you may be training to simply get into the army. You may also be training to have the fitness to perform at 100% when you are actually in operations. Either way, now is the time to start and keep increasing your level of capabilities so they are there when you need them.

Water, The Elixir Of A Healthy Life

My parents continue to teach me. It seems you never grow out of that role of student with your parents. Lesson: good health and living a green lifestyle are closely linked.
I'm not saying that if you live a green life, eat whole and organic foods, exercise, and get lots of sleep that you'll always be healthy, but I am saying that you can hedge your bets with a few simple routines, and live a healthier life than if you ignore these routines.
Have you ever stopped to consider how infections and dehydration are related? Or how they impact your life, health, and sense of well-being? This is an invitation to stop and consider it. The lesson my parents just gave me was about the dangers of dehydration and infections, especially under-treated infections, and in seniors.
My Bigger Half and I went to visit Rock and No-Nonsense, and help host a family celebration. Upon arrival we learned No-Nonsense was suffering with vertigo, and a UTI (urinary tract infection). Because moving about was disorienting for No-Nonsense she wasn't drinking much water (think about the ramifications of both drinking the water, and the after effects if moving makes you nauseous). No amount of urging her to drink water made a change in her behavior. Not even her doctor could sway her determination to not drink much water!
Ok, fine, she "gets" to live her life her way, a hard lesson for this daughter to accept when she used to be the epitome of healthy habits. I even heard Rock mumble something under his breath about leading a horse to water, so I know I'm not the only one experiencing a bit of frustration here.
The second night of our visit Rock found No-Nonsense struggling unsuccessfully to get into bed, so he called me up to help. That's when we found her disoriented and not acting like herself. I changed from my daughter hat to my EMT hat and started asking her questions while waiting for My Bigger Half to bring the stethoscope and BP cuff up. A low blood pressure spurred Rock to call his medical office for advise, which fortunately agreed with what My Bigger Half and I had concluded: take her to the ER. We thought she was having a stroke

After a battery of tests all we really know was that she wasn't having a stroke. What we concluded on our own is that between her infection (or infections) and dehydration, she was suffering from AMS -- Altered Mental Status. A fancy phrase to say she was confused, disoriented, and not herself.
In telling a few friends about this episode we started hearing similar stories about other seniors who suffered AMS from either infections or dehydration. I heard so many stories it hit me that this is a fairly common situation.
The simplified discussion I had with No-Nonsense was that it's vital to drink ample water during the day. "Ample" of course is subjective, and varies by location and situation. She felt the 18 oz of water she drank daily was ample, but the results of that practice, with the infection, showed otherwise to me. It's commonly accepted that 8 8-oz glasses a day is about right for most people. Through just normal living you output about 10-10.5 cups of water/day. Your food provides about 20 percent of your liquid requirements, so the balance comes from what you drink. I'm not going to get into the discussion right now about whether just any ol' liquid counts towards water replacement, but I am going to take the stance that the healthiest approach is to drink two liters of water daily.
I went on to explain to No-Nonsense that when you don't drink enough water your blood gets thick. Thick blood strains the heart because it has to work harder to push that thicker liquid through your veins. And thick blood doesn't carry as much oxygen, depriving your brain and heart of the much needed oxygen they require for healthy function. Thick, deoxygenated blood is hard on all of your internal and external organs. Drinking water also helps the body heal from the infection by flushing out their toxins.
from the infection by flushing out their toxins.Signs and symptoms of dehydration include diarrhea, dry mouth, dry eyes, headache, hearth palpitations, muscle cramps, nausea, not sweating, shriveled skin, stinging during urination, thirst, and vomiting. In severe dehydration you start to see confusion and weakness, moving toward coma and death if not corrected.
You can do a few simple tests yourself to try to diagnose dehydration. Check the person's orientation, vital signs, temperature, and skin responses. Orientation for adults means asking questions, assuming they are awake, that will help you judge how aware they are of their surroundings. Checking muscle tone for infants and seniors, listlessness, as well as how awake, alert, and oriented the person is, are also part of testing you can do. For infants, check the fontanel (the soft spot at the top of their head) to see if it's sunken, an indication of dehydration.
" for several seconds the person is dehydrated). Dehydrated skin may also feel warm.

Dehydration also throws off electrolytes. That aggravates muscle weakness and heart disrhythmia, and can stress the kidneys as they strive to compensate for the electrolyte imbalance. The elderly and the young are especially at risk for dehydration.
Now, about infection and how it fits into this lesson I was given. Advanced age, staying still for a long time, and being a woman increased the chance of No-Nonsense getting a UTI. Infections can contribute to confusion, or altered mental status. Oh, by the way, some of the liquids you should avoid if you have a UTI are caffeine and alcohol. And when you have an infection you should drink plenty of fluids. In fact, drinking plenty of fluids daily helps reduce the chance for a UTI. Aha! There's the getting plenty of liquids topic again.
OK, back to the elixir of a healthy life part of this article. I'm a strong advocate of drinking filtered (not bottled) water from glass or stainless steel containers. Lots of it. I think it has magical qualities.
By lots I mean at least two liters every day. People who are in hot climates or are active should drink more than two liters to replace the water lost from the heat or due to the exercising. If you start that practice now you will be in the habit by the time you become a senior (a moving target to say the least).
Staying hydrated will help your body maintain a healthy body, one that will fight germs. Ample water in your system will help all of your organs, from your skin to your heart and brain, to your digestive organs, stay healthy, vital and working well.
When you get sick, be sure to keep drinking lots of fluids to help your body heal. Pay attention to your mental status too. If you notice that you aren't quite yourself get to a doctor or the emergency room.
We can discuss which fluids count toward your two liter per day consumption later. You can't go wrong with pure water, though. Here's to your good health through green living!

What to Eat for IBS to Improve Digestion Naturally: 7 Tips

Deciding what to eat when you have Irritable Bowel Syndrome can be tremendously confusing.
There's no one list of foods that works for everybody, but there are principles to follow that will help you prevent digestive distress naturally and have a more comfortable life.
Here are seven tips on what to eat for IBS:
1) Drink plenty of pure water. Chemicals in tap water can interfere with good digestion. If you are drinking tap water and you're NOT filtering it, at least do this...
Pour a pitcher of tap water and let it stand for an hour to evaporate the chlorine. Drinking chlorine-free water makes life a lot easier for your sensitive digestive system. Adding mineral drops to drinking water will give you added nutrition that is easy to absorb.
2) Take essential fatty acids (EFA's.) These vital nutrients are needed for good digestion AND for brain function. They help your mental functioning as well as your emotional balance. So take small amounts of flax oil, fish oil, or balanced omega oil at one or more meals. Or sprinkle ground flax seeds on your serving of soup, cereal, or veggies. But don't cook EFA-rich oils and seeds! Cooking destroys the nutrients.
Cooked fats, especially animal fats, are one of the hardest foods to digest. Dr. D.S. Khalsa says they also stimulate the production of cholecystokin, a hormone that makes the colon go into contractions - i.e. spasms. So watch out for the animal fats and anything deep-fried.
To soothe the intestines, eat foods containing soluble fiber at the beginning of a meal. Soluble fiber is found in oatmeal, peeled apples, bananas, mango, papaya, winter squash, most root vegetables, white rice, mushrooms, avocado, and several other foods.
On the other hand, whole grains and leafy green vegetables contain insoluble fiber which acts like a broom, whisking out the intestines to clear away toxins. You need the nutrients in these foods too, but when there are digestive problems, eat the soluble fiber foods first to get your gut ready for the other foods. And when you're under a lot of stress, focus on the soluble fiber foods since the INsoluble ones may be too much to handle temporarily.
4) Take digestive enzymes, especially if you eat a lot of cooked and processed foods. Heating and processing destroy many of the enzymes that help you to digest and absorb your food. Look for a broad spectrum enzyme that includes bile.
5) Take probiotics. Drugs such as antibiotics and pain killers kill off many of the helpful bacteria in your intestines, contributing to gas and digestive discomfort. To combat this and restore your bacterial balance, take a good probiotic supplement. Don't rely on yogurt - even the "enhanced" versions do not provide enough active bacteria to be effective.
6) Avoid dairy products. Even if you are not lactose intolerant, you may not be able to digest the protein in milk products. Dairy is the top food allergen and one of the most common causes of digestive distress. Dr. D. Dahlman believes it's the most important food group to leave OFF your list of what to eat for IBS.
Will you have problems with osteoporosis if you leave out milk and dairy? No. A Harvard University study of 78,000 women found that the women who consumed two daily glasses of milk - or their equivalent - were 40 percent more prone to fractures than those who consumed less!
7) Watch out for unsuspected food sensitivities. Dr. James Braly says one out of three people have digestive and other health problems because of wheat and grain-based foods such as pasta, cereal, bread and other flour products.
Other typical trouble foods are citrus, peanuts, caffeine, chocolate (especially avoid this if you are prone to diarrhea), sugar, artificial sweeteners, and foods containing additives and preservatives. Any or all of these can contribute to tummy and bowel problems. Sensitivity testing or an elimination diet will show you which foods are worst for you.

Childhood And The Health Bugs

No one wants their child to be in pain or have to deal with an illness, short or long-term. There are however some things that you should keep in mind before you head to the doctor only to find out that it was a trip you really didn't need to make because you could have treated the problem at home. But there is also signs to recognize that it is indeed time to seek a doctor's help.
To begin with getting sick is not only part of life but part of childhood and every time your child has a cold is not cause for alarm. Coughing, sneezing, even vomiting can be part of normal childhood and are not a reason to panic. Fevers sometimes accompany childhood illnesses and as a result it is a good idea to have a way to monitor your child's temperature a way that does not require significant cooperation on their part especially since children in general tend to not be very cooperative and a sick child is even less so.
The modern technological breakthroughs of today have devices that are very useful and accurate in taking a child's temperature and a sure way of keeping an eye on the temperature, making sure that it does not exceed 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperature that reach this level are very dangerous and is cause for alarm and the child should be taken to the nearest emergency room for treatment as soon as possible. Usually pain relief medication, rubbing alcohol or ice baths will bring the body's temperature down, but if it doesn't, seek professional help ASAP.
If you understand that if the body temperature exceeds 140 degrees, you are now into a very dangerous zone for the body. This is the point at which strokes, heart attacks and numerous seizures happen very quickly. Any of these conditions could cause long-term brain damage and in the more severe cases cause death.
If there is just a couple of vomiting episodes, there probably isn't cause to panic. However if the vomiting happens continually and is accompanied by diarrhea, this could easily cause dehydration, which in turn could cause other serious medical complication and side effects. After you have administered fluids and the vomiting happens only occasionally everything should be fine. Confusion and/or extreme weakness are dehydration signs and should be your clue to seek medical help usually in the form of doctor examination and possible IV fluids that will help rehydrate until the vomiting stops.
Kids will be kids and getting sick is just a natural and normal part of childhood. Parents especially those who are new parents tend to overreact yet there is nothing as keen as a parent's intuition so if you feel that you need to get your child to a doctor or hospital right away then do so. An error on the side of caution is always the better way to go.
The appropriate Health insurance is helpful to keep kids protected. A few Health insurance quotes is the simplest way to get the desired coverage.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Anti-Cellulite Creams

Sometimes, browsing a women's magazine can be frustrating especially when you see sexy models clad in skimpy clothes showing off their thighs, butts and bellies free from unsightly cellulite. You wonder why they were able to free themselves from those lumps that are seemingly much more of a cottage cheese. All you can do is speculate for reasons like, "they might have undergone surgery!" For you, that will never be an option. For ordinary women, a surgery to remove cellulite is just extremely over the top vanity.
You must have heard of anti-cellulite creams but never experimented on it because you do not know exactly for sure if they are effective. You just resigned to the idea of using one. Well, let me tell you some of its advantages to enlighten you. Here are some of them:
  • It has the ability to sculpt the body especially areas which are really hard to target even with frequent exercise. These areas usually involve the stomach, thighs, hips, arms, buttocks among some others.
  • It gives the body smooth and sleek look.
  • Ease of use wherein all you need to do is follow the instructions specified together with the product.
  • It nourishes the skin allowing it to strengthen connective tissues. Connective tissues are the ones responsible for the skin to be elastic, tight, firm and supple.
  • Constant use prevents future formation of cellulite.
Don't get too excited yet. As a rule, knowing the two sides of the coin also applies here. There are also downsides in using anti-cellulite creams. Some of these are:
  • It does not produce an immediate effect. This means that you have to use the product for a certain period to achieve the full effect.
  • Some irritate the skin. This could be for a number of reasons like they are not hypoallergenic or they contain substances that your skin is just too sensitive to take.
  • Some do not contain sufficient elements to make the cream effective. It might be that retinol and caffeine c
The smartest thing to do is to conduct a bit of research so that when you decide to buy one you know what exactly to look for. Better yet, reading reviews will be helpful too. One warning though do not expect anti-cellulite creams to cost almost like candies. They are a bit pricey. So, if you find cheap ones creams, you must ask yourself about its effectivenessArticle Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Em_Aca-Ac

8 Tips - How to Solve a Few Everyday Small Problems

How to save you the effort of always having to throw that "Limp" Celery out of the fridge. On your next buy, "Wrap the Celery In aluminum foil" before putting it in the refrigerator and you will find it keeps for weeks.
2. How to stop that small "jungle" growing in your Potato bag? All you have to do is place an "apple" in the bag with the Potatoes to keep them from budding.
3. Don't throw out any of that left over wine. Freeze it into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
4. When a cake recipe for calls for flouring of the baking tin, use a little "dry cake mix" instead, and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
5. "Spring" is here". Planting new plants? Well place a banana skin under the flowers you are planting in the bed and you will find that it will improve the flower quality & quantity.
6. A simple method to clean your barbeque "grill" that looks a little worse for wear. Wrap the grill rack in "Aluminum Foil" turn the grill on for say 30 minutes + - with the lid on. This will lift the old food particles from the grill. Remove the foil crimple it up and use it as a scraper to remove any excess.
remove any excess.
7. Clean your oven racks to get them sparkling clean. Normally one would remove the racks and apply same spray cleanser that you use to clean the oven, allow it to sit there for a time and then rinse. This is not always perfect, so here is a method that I have found to be more satisfactory. Place the oven racks in a large (so that you can close/seal the bag) heavy duty plastic bag. After you have placed the racks into the bag, pour ½ cup of ammonia into the bag. Seal the bag so that the liquid will not leak out. And let it soak overnight. Next day remove the racks from the plastic bag, then a light scrub will remove any remains. Finally rinse the ammonia cleanser from the racks. Suggest using gloves for this procedure and, care should be taken when using and disposing ammonia as it is a poisonous substance.
8. Removing the "white spots" (calcium deposits) from your stainless steel pots and saucepans;- "Vinegar & water". Use a 50/50 mixture of "White Vinegar" and "Water," pour the mix into the calcified stainless steel pot or saucepan. Slowly heat up the vinegar and water until it starts to gently boil. Allow it to simmer for approximately 15 minutes, remove from the heat and let the mixture cool. When it is at room temperature, pour out a majority of the mixture and wipe away the spots. Wash again as normal and it ready for use again.
Now that you have finished reading all these you most probably have a "Headache". "The cure for this is": take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. This will make the throbbing go away. Hope there was at least one "tip" above that you did not know of, if so then this has been worthwhile
Cheers, Darryl.

What Are These Tiny Brown Worms on Clothes?

The title of this article may sound a bit silly to you, but if you look this phrase up on Google, you will find over 13 million articles containing the words *tiny brown worms on clothes*. Since one of these articles is on my blog, and quite a few visitors find my blog by searching for this phrase, I decided to find out some more about this topic.
Almost all of the articles I found are in the "question and answer" category. And - perhaps not so strange - many of them are not unique. Some are actually exact copies of the original Q and A. I found three groups of these identical articles:
1. "Tiny brown worms on clothes?" - This is the oldest group, originally posted in 2005 on the E-Bug.net Forum. There are only two copies, the first one appearing five years later on Yahoo Answers.
2. "What are these tiny brown worms found under clothing on floor?" - This is the largest group of identical articles and, according to Google, consists of 219 websites ( including my own blog ). The original question first appeared in 2008 on Yahoo Answers. A lot of webmasters evidently thought this question would be of interest to their visitors.
3. "I found small brown worms in my clothing and bedding." - This was originally a question posed on the Canadian version of Yahoo Answers in 2010, and has only 9 copies.
Other articles were not as widely quoted as these three. I managed to find 9 others to read before succumbing to utter boredom.
So what was so interesting about tiny brown worms on clothes? What did people want to know about them?
What are they?
Most of the answers to this question suggested that the tiny worms were some kind of insect larva, most likely carpet beetle larvae. Other speculations included maggots, millipedes, and "flea poop".
What do I do about them?
The first thing, of course, is to get rid of them. If the tiny worms are not already dead, then they can be easily dispatched with any bug killer you have at hand.
The next problem is to make sure that the brown worms don't reappear. So you must thoroughly clean the clothing on which they were found. Then fumigate the closet. And finally, don't let your clothes sit on the floor for weeks at a time.
I noticed that none of the questions was answered by someone scientifically qualified to diagnose the nature of the tiny brown worms. So I would recommend that, if you are not terribly upset at their appearance, or particularly worried about their reappearance, by all means try the proposed solutions. But if you are utterly flabbergasted by these "tiny brown worms on clothes", then call a professional bug exterminator!
Want some more details on those tiny brown worms? Or perhaps you just want to take a look at the author's website at Clothing17.info.

Topical Treatments for a Toe Nail Fungus Cure

Are you looking for a toe nail fungus cure? There are so many nail fungus topical remedies on the market, and trying to find one which will work for you can be confusing.
One thing you have to remember when you are looking for cures for toenail fungus, is any type of treatment you choose will take time before you will notice a difference.
Your toenails grow at a slower rate than your fingernails, so you can expect the treatment you use will take time. Normally, it is about 12 months for a toenail to regrow and around 6 months for a fingernail.
There are some over the counter fungus creams available, but I would use these with caution, at least double check before you purchase one. Many of the creams available are great for treating vaginal yeast infections, oral thrush, tinea versicolor, jock itch (tinea cruris), tinea corporis or athlete's foot (tinea pedis).
Some of the names of these types of treatments are; Mycelex, Lotrimin, (generic brand name - clotrimazole), Undecylenic acid Monistat, Vagistat, Femizol, M-Zole, Micitin, (generic name - miconazole).
These particular nail fungus cures will not help you, if you are suffering from toe nail fungus. You need to use a treatment which is able to penetrate your nail, so always double check; otherwise you could lose another few months before you realize the cream you have purchased is for oral thrush.
Over the counter cures for toenail fungus
Loceryl - is a topical treatment applied as a nail lacquer once a week to clean, dry toenails or fingernails. Loceryl has quite a good success rate, although it is a long process as you do need to wait for the new nail to grow out.
The active ingredient in Loceryl is Amorolfine Hydrochloride, this is also found in Curanail which is really the same drug marketed under the brand name Loceryl.
Curanail is applied once a week, to a clean, dry, toenails or fingernails.
Curanail is available in the UK and Europe.
Loceryl is available in the US and Australia.
Penlac (Ciclopirox) is available on prescription only, and is a nail lacquer applied daily to clean, dry toenails or fingernails. Penlac is not great for advanced stages of nail fungus. With this type of treatment, you need to wait for the nail to grow out.
Loceryl and Curanail are not the best for very advanced stages of nail fungus either.
If you decide to go with one of these over the counter topical treatments, you can also apply a natural remedy for toenail fungus, such as tea tree oil, or white vinegar as well. Natural remedies like these pose no threat and are safe to use along with your over the counter toe nail fungus cure.

Dye Your Hair Snow White

Whether you are over 40 and tired of the salt-and-pepper look or you are in your 20s and looking for a chic new hairstyle, white hair might be just what you are looking for. A full head of snowy, white hair is an amazing look. And more and more young people love its eye-catching appeal. Dyeing your hair white is not simple though. It is a challenge that is often best left to the professionals. You'll find the highest quality hair dye at salons and people who know how to use it.
If you are set on dyeing your hair at home, then be prepared for a little trial and error. The easiest way to get white hair is to use a temporary white hair dye product like Fanci-full. This comes in the form of a white hair rinse. These products are available at most online and retail outlets. Many of them provide a great look, but they only last for a few days. For a more permanent look, bleaching your hair is necessary.
Bleaching your hair must be done with the utmost care. Otherwise the damage done to your hair may be irreversible. There will always be some damage done to your hair through this process, but there are ways to minimize how bad it is. It's essential that you have healthy hair before attempting to use bleach. If your hair is already in bad shape, then bleaching it will only make it worse. Don't risk damaging your hair irrevocably. To prepare your hair for the bleaching process, you should go to the salon and get several deep conditioning treatments. Once your hair is looking healthier, begin the bleaching process.
The purpose of using bleach is to remove the natural pigment from your hair. Therefore if your original color is dark, you may have to bleach your hair several times over an extended period of time to achieve the shade you are looking for. Those with black hair may want to reconsider whether bleaching is right for them. Do not overdo the bleach each time or you are asking for trouble. Every time you bleach your hair, more damage will be done. That's why you must space out the treatments and be sure to use some form of deep conditioning therapy in between bleachings. Depending on how quickly your hair recovers, you may be able to bleach it every two weeks. For some that might be too frequent. After all the pigment has been removed from your hair, which may take several months, you will be ready for the white hair dye.
Strangely enough the white hair dye that you'll be using is actually purple toner. The bleaching process will probably leave you with slightly yellowish looking hair. Using a purple toner, like the ones from Manic Panic or Special Effects, will offset the yellow color that is often visible in bleached hair. To achieve perfectly white hair, the toner may have to be applied multiple times. If you go through this entire process at home, then you'll probably have to do some trial and error along the way. Eventually, if done right, you'll achieve that snowy white hair that you were looking for.

Skin Saving Tips on How to Apply Sunscreen

cking the right sunscreen is important to protect skin from cancer and premature aging, but what's even more important is how to apply it. Without understanding how, even the best sunscreen can be ineffective.
For beachgoers, new skin safety research constantly changes so it's important to keep up with the latest reports to stay healthy.
Before shopping for a sunscreen, though, it's important to know the different varieties. Those who are on the organic and holistic road may find that a trip to a health food market have several natural sunscreens. Typical organic sunscreen ingredients include:
• Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate
• Ethylhexyl Salicylate
• Homosalate
• Octocrylene
• Titanium Dioxide 2.0%
Organic sunscreens are generally paraben and fragrance-free. Some offer UVA and UVB protection with vegetarian ingredients.
On the flipside, other sunscreen manufacturers also offer an anti-aging and a skin recovery enhancement its ingredients. Important broad spectrum formulas (UVA and UVB protection) to look for in these options are:
There is a flurry of skin safety tips when applying sunscreen. The most valuable is sunscreen should be applied 15 to 30 minutes before going outside. And don't be frugal with it - reports have shown that not enough is being used to cover and protect the body.
Sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours. Don't let the "long-lasting" word on the label make one think
otherwise. And if it's not waterproof, do reapply more often after returning back from the water or if one has sweated after playing outdoor sports.
When applying sunscreen, it's important to take note that susceptible areas of burn may be overlooked, such as:
• Ears
• Back of legs
• Tops of feet and hands
• Scalp (if there is a receding hairline or one wears a buzz cut)
Another area needing extra attention is the lips. If outdoors, do wear lip balm which offers a Sun Protection Factor (SPF). Like other parts of the body, lips too, can be at risk to lip cancer. In fact, sun exposure is rated as the number one reason.
And before heading out for some outdoor playtime, do check the product expiration date. If it has expired or has been opened for several months, it may not provide ultimate skin protection.
Despite how powerful a product may be its still always wise to find shade to give skin a break. And above all, wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses for extra anti-aging care.

The Best Shampoo for Gray Hair

Searching for the right shampoo for your hair may not seem important at first, but you'll regret it later if you don't take the time to do it. There is a reason why gray hair has always been considered one of the surest signs of getting old. I'm sure you can remember the thin, stringy white hair your grandfather had or your grandmother's gray, frizzy perm. Well those days are long gone now. We no longer have to settle for wearing our gray hair like we are old. Gray, white, and even silver hair can make us look and feel younger if we take the right steps to care for it. And one of the most important steps you can take is finding the right shampoo for your hair.
The numerous challenges that gray hair once presented have largely been muted by the excellent hair products that are available nowadays. Probably the most valuable tool for facing these gray hair challenges is your shampoo. First and foremost make sure you choose a shampoo that was specifically designed for gray hair. Since graying hair tends to be very dry, it is extremely important that your shampoo has moisturizing ingredients. Some good moisturizing ingredients to look for include lecithin, avocado oil, and spirulina among others. Hydration is extremely important if you want to prevent dull, frizzy looking hair. A good shampoo will always be hydrating.
Your habits and environment can play havoc on your hair. Medication, smoking, swimming in chlorine treated pools, and spending too much time in the sun will adversely affect your hair color. Using a clarifying shampoo can go a long way to repairing and protecting your hair from such factors. A clarifying shampoo can be used once a week to remove residue from your hair and add some extra shine. Check out the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Formula. It is easily one of the best low-cost clarifying shampoos you can find. Using a shampoo with the ingredient Omega 3 will also be useful in protecting your hair color.
To prevent dull, yellow-looking hair, blue shampoos can be very useful. Certain shampoos like Aveda Blue Malva or Clairol Shimmer Lights will add some color to your hair and at the same time provide much needed hydration. As you can see, choosing the right shampoo or shampoos is essential to maintaining your hair properly. Just because you have gray hair, doesn't mean you have to look old.

Laser Hair Removal - A Blessing for Many

Tired of plucking, waxing or shaving off those unwanted hairs from your body? Then go for an alternate method of hair removal like laser hair removal. The biggest disadvantage with other methods of hair removal is that you need to keep up and maintain constant care to prevent hair from growing back. But with laser hair removal, you can be relieved from unwanted hair for a longer period of time.
Laser hair removal is a very effective method when it comes to removing unwanted hair from the body. With this method, most of the unwanted hair from your body will be removed and the result can last for a long period of time. Although the method does not lead to permanent removal, it can achieve hair free, smooth skin for many months or years. This is the main reason why this method has gained such popularity over time. It is generally believed that laser hair removal is very effective on people with fair skin and dark hair because the laser will target the dark after separating it from the lighter shade. But there are machines too that can treat people who do not have a fair skin.
The different kinds of hair and the effects of laser
Laser hair removal is effective on different hair and skin types. You can only see positive results after a few sittings of the treatment. In case you have very light hair, you may require sitting for more treatments than people with dark hair. Laser hair removal mainly targets hair from below the root, singes it, and stops any kind of hair growth for a long period. If your hair is coarse and thick, the laser may find it difficult to locate the root of the hair and check its growth.
Time frame of laser hair removal
If you are treating a small area like the upper lip, you may require sitting for 5 minutes or so. But for a larger area like the back, the procedure can take as little as 2 hours or more. The result of the process can last for many months or even years. But for best results including a high rate of decrease hair re-growth and reduction, you may require to go for 7 to 8 treatments in a span of 6 to 8 weeks. After treatment, you must go for maintenance treatments occasionally.
Few considerations before treatment
The laser used in the treatment generally targets the melanin present in the skin, which is responsible for the color of the skin and hair. It is seen that when more melanin is present in the skin, the laser works better. However, less melanin in the skin is equally sufficient because the laser will target only the hair and not the skin. It is considered that people with dark, thick hair and light skin are perfect candidates for the laser treatment. This method is generally not effective on people with red, blonde or grey hair.
The different lasers used in the process
The laser use is generally based on the type of skin on the candidate. Based on this, different varieties of laser are used. The Ruby Laser (694 nm, normal mode) is very effective on people with dark hair. Candidates will surely find a delay in the growth of hair. Another variety is the Pulsed Diode Laser (800 nm) which is perfect for people with coarse or thick hair and not for fine hair. Besides, it is safer for candidates with darker skin types. Intense Pulsed Light Source (500-1200 nm) is another type that is very effective for fine and coarse dark hair. It can remove light hairs temporary and is perfect for people with darker skin.
Many people have the misconception that laser hair removal can prevent hair growth permanently. But this is not true. It helps you get a hair free smooth skin for a longer period of time and the root of the hair re-grows. But the rate of growth is quite slower than earlier.

Breasts and Body Image

It is not surprising that so many women are not confident about their breast size today. Samantha Jones, Sex and the City, said "Nipples are IN!" And while her sexuality is probably a thing of legend, she's right; nipples are in, as are breasts. One obsession that we may never be able to escape is the American obsession with breasts. We can't look anywhere - television, magazine covers, billboards, movies, advertisements - without seeing breasts everywhere. We are unable to avoid them. We see hundreds of advertisements commonly containing images of large-breasted women using and displaying their products.
We are all guilty of spending our time comparing themselves to the images that they see in the media, no matter how good we think we look. We are always working hard to achieve the perfection that we see in advertising and movies. This problem is exacerbated by the number of our youth who are constantly bombarded with these images of what we should look like. It is no wonder that women and girls go to extreme measures to meet societal ideals.
The "perfect body" tends to be defined by the fashion industry by large, perky breasts and thin bodies with just the right amount of muscle tone. There are ads everywhere that tell us how to get the perfect body, and it is clear that too many of us give in to them. Each year in the US there are approximately 132,000 breast enlargements performed, a procedure that is only surpassed in the amount of liposuction that is done in this country.
Dr. Michael Kulick said that breast augmentation is the #1 surgical procedure performed for women younger than 34 years old, and this is further evidence that the media push of the "perfect body" is having a huge negative impact on the public.
It's one thing to admire models and movie stars, and quite another when we decide that we need to be like them. Too many people are turning to surgery and sucking out fat, rather than eating healthy and working out. More and more people are developing eating disorders in an attempt to have the perfect image. While in their adolescence, young women are most vulnerable to body image problems and even men and teen boys are susceptible to the body image dilemma.
In the US, we spend somewhere around $30 billion a year on dieting supplies, products, and programs. Many of us are wasting time, money and happiness on attaining the perfect figure when we could be living our lives and making the most of everything. There is nothing wrong with eating better and working out to stay in shape, but societal pressure is causing too many people to take this to the extreme.
As a society, we need to do something about this problem. Schools and the media need to work on improving the idea that "perfection" isn't just what is on the cover of a magazine or even what we see on TV. Big breasts might be the "societal perfect" but really, there are so many more important aspects to a person.
Breast enhancement surgery is very popular but very risky and can have horrible secondary effects. There are natural ways to firm up and increase a woman's breast size with Triactol a popular breast enlargement serum that can increase a woman breast size and deliver firmer breasts without serious side effects.
